Welcome to our 'B-LOG!'
CAN WE ALL PLEASE SAY A HUGE THANK YOU TO MR COLLET FOR HIS SUPPORT OF OUT GROUP AND HIS FANTASTIC OFFERS REGARDING THE CHRISTMAS SHOW?! THANK YOU!!
Amnesty International at the Arthur Terry School has been up and running since April of 2007. The purpose of this blog is to allow the members of our group to express their feelings about the work amnesty do and about the abuses that they are working to combat. We will also post all upcoming events and totals of money raised here as well as infomration and articles about where this money will go.
Amnesty International at Arthur Terry is made up of a team of dedicated, hardworking, and passionate young people who give up their time and contribute their enthusiasm to do what we can to support Amnesty and their worthwhile work.
Thank you.

My head has been spinning with ideas all weekend. We will decide between us what campaign we want to focus on and then run with it.
I've ordered badges and stickers and balloons etc from Amnesty for the bag packing so fingers crossed on the postal strike ending!
For the fashion show, I am going to ask for a Friday evening in the summer term. We will begin to contact some companies soon who stick to fair trade an ecological values. Feel free to start researching!! It's gonna be brilliant!!
Recommended album - Instant Karma. Available from Amazon. This is an Amnesty album of contemporary artists doing covers of classsic John Lennon songs. All profits go to victims of the Darfur crisis.
Amnesty shop also has brilliant Christmas gifts and cards. They are all fair trade and are not Amnesty branded. Lovely home and clothes stuff and a very cool bag made of laminated Indian newspaper!!(?) Sally 14/10/07

STOP violence against women. We are holding an ATAmnesty Stop Violence against women week in January. Events will be held at lunch time with the main thing being a 'wall of hands' in the dining room. All will become clear!
We will also have an awareness stand about the group and what we are doing at the school's Christmas show on December 6th.
